One of the catalysts for our year of plenty was the inaugural season of the Millwood Farmers’ Market in our church parking lot. The idea for the market came from Kelly, a junior-high student in our congregation who lives just two blocks from the church. She hatched the idea on an aimless summer day in our sleepy historic mill town on the urban fringe of Spokane, Wash.
